The Lawn-Boy bag kit has a 2.5-bushel capacity (3.1-cubic-feet) bag and attaches easily without any tools. The bag is resistant to rotting and mildew, and is specifically designed for all Lawn-Boy 21-inch staggered wheel mowers (except high wheel models, and 2000 Lawn-Boy mowers).

I installed this bag kit on an older Lawn Boy Gold series stagger wheeled mower. The mower was originally set up as a mulcher, so it is equipped with a lawn boy high lift blade. The bag kit was easy to install, but I did have to loosen the two guide bolts in order to mount the chute. The instructions said that it was unnecessary, but it made the install much much easier, and has no impact on safety. As with other baggers, the grass must be dry in order for this system to be effective. It can clog quickly under damp conditions. I have found that if I walk the yard prior to mowing, and my boots become damp, then it's too wet. Once you start mowing the position of the bag never gets in the way of trimming, or other wise working around close objects such as shrubs. The only time that it can begin to get in the way is when starting the mower. The brackets are quite close to the pull rope at the top of the handle. This has never been a problem for me, it's just close enough for it to become a concern in my mind. Emptying the bagger is a breeze. It simply lifts off, opens wide, closes easily, and sits back on. no clips, straps or anything. It is very well designed in that manner. The mower when equipped with the high lift blade leaves nothing behind. It also does a very good job of cutting the grass very finely. This product produces a professional cut with minimal effort. I highly recommend this product, and would purchase another lawn boy product.

I researched a lot of online sellers and found Amazon to be the lowest price. I don't look at just the price but it's really nice to know that Amazon will stand behind your purchases and that is worth a lot. So I say that Amazon gets a ***** also!

Wow - this bag is a lifesaver! I've had my old Lawn Boy Commercial mower for about 15 years now and I never knew they made a REAR bag for it. I've seen that old SIDE bag that Lawn Boy has had for many, many years, but I never knew I could add a rear bag until now.

The bag installed relatively easily, but as one other reviewer pointed out, getting the little bolt holes to line up can be a little challenging (hence the 4-star rating). Once I got the "chute" installed, the bag attachment bars went right on.

When using, the bag is very easy to remove and reinstall. It holds a good amount of grass, so you don't have to empty it at every turn. If you overfill, you notice that grass is left behind on the ground - and you'll have to shove that back out (with the engine off) when you empty the bag because it may stay clogged even after you empty the bag. Just be concious of how full the bag is (tap the side or top to "feel" the grass level), and you won't experience any clogging.

This is the best bag I ever used. This was a replacement and was only available as a special order because newer models were made. How could they improve on perfection. HOLDS A TON AND EMPTYS QUICKLY.

I purchased this bag through Amazon after discovering that the local Lawn-Boy dealer wanted substantially more money for the same item. The price didn't sound right, so I did an internet search and discovered Amazon had the best price.
I read all of the prevous reviews and then ordered the bag. It was an easy install on my old 1996 Gold Series. Like the previous reviews, I did have to loosen the deck bolts a little in order to install the chute. Other than loosening the bolts, there are no other tools involved for installation of the bag.
I could not be more pleased with the bag. The mower has more vacuum action for a better cut with the bag installed and produces a better lawn appearance than mulching. I should have bought a bag a long time ago. Like the previous review, the starter rope is in the way when removing or installing the bag. It's not a big deal though.

This bag lists for $120, so Amazon has a good price. It was purchased to replace the bag on my 10 year old mower that had just worn out. Very easy installation and works better than the original bag.

I was very happy to find a bag kit to work with my mower. Ours was lost when we moved. This one is not a perfect fit, but it works. I am happy to have it.

Just what I needed to clean up the lawn. Easy to install. Bag unloads easily. Perfect.

Like the new Bagger, other than it won't fit on the deck properly with out forcing it into the opening of the deck!!!!
